Green Mountain Area Homeschoolers has no requirements for attendance or volunteering. Simply come to the activities that fit your interests and schedule.
A free Basic Membership in Green Mountain Area Homeschoolers gives you access to ALL of our events. This is a great choice for families who can only attend every once in a while and anyone who’s thinking about homeschooling.
A Premium Membership includes discounted pricing on field trips and free or reduced pricing on all of our programs. A Premium Membership is the best deal for families who participate regularly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be a member to try out the group?
Yes! A membership is the only way for you to access group activity schedules and information.
What age are the kids in the group?
We are an all-ages group, with infants to high schoolers and every age in-between.
What’s the time commitment?
You can attend as often or as infrequently as you like, depending on your interests and schedule. Most of our regular activities are on Wednesdays, with a few on Monday afternoons and Thursday evenings.
Do I have to help out?
Well, it’s nice if you do! But the only real expectation is that you come to things that interest you and be as connected and supportive as you’re able. This helps us maintain our reputation as a friendly, supportive, and innovative homeschool group.
Is this a secular or religious group?
Our group is not affiliated with any church and supports both faith-based and secular homeschoolers.
What do you do with my information?
I do not share your information with anyone. Ever.
Can I cancel my membership at any time?
Yes, you can opt out at any time. Basic Membership access will end immediately. Premium Membership access will continue through the end of the paid month or year, depending on which payment option you selected.

About the founder
Sarah Gorner
I’ve been homeschooling since 2008 and started Green Mountain Area Homeschoolers in 2009. In the early days, we were just a few families meeting at the park. Since then, GMAH has grown tremendously in size and scope.
Our park days, field trips, and programs continue to evolve each year with the overriding goal of providing inspiration and support for homeschoolers just like you – homeschoolers looking for friends, field trips, service-learning projects, public speaking experience, and more.
My children are currently in high school and college. When my youngest finishes high school, I’ll stay here with you and continue to run the group. Homeschooling has been an excellent choice for our family and I love helping and encouraging others.
