This Swallowtail has been in our yard for weeks. We found him in our greenhouse today.
The Importance of Pollinators from Leigh with Project 5 Billion
Project 5 Billion is an action-based social media movement started by Colorado high school student Leigh Schmidt. The focus is on what individuals can do to reduce their environmental impact and promote public policy for environmental change. Its name is inspired by the fact that the sun will die in five billion years. Earth could last just as long, but only if we take care of it. Western Tent Caterpillar by Gabriel
We were backpacking on the Colorado Trail and we found these Western Tent Caterpillars on a Wax Currant Bush. They hatch and make a tent made out of silk thread and start eating leaves. Later, they make a cocoon on the ground and two weeks later it turns into a moth.
