Connect with Corvids

A Green Mountain Area Homeschoolers student-led service learning project.

Project Goal

We wanted to help our community learn about corvids. Corvids are very intelligent and easily identifiable birds, making them interesting and highly visible ambassadors for the environment.

Which corvids live in our community?

You can see six species of corvids in Lakewood, Colorado.

Research and Learning

Our group has gained in-depth knowledge about the corvids in our community. We learned how they adapt to urban environments and how they can best coexist with humans and other animals. We shared this information with the community at large, but especially youth. We think that the more connected our community feels to nature, the more they will be willing to care for all aspects of it.

The Connect with Corvids Journal

This 40-page journal is a combination of Green Mountain Area Homeschoolers’ student essays, drawings, and photographs, along with blank journal pages.

Our students hope their contributions to this journal will inspire you to learn more about corvids, some of the smartest birds (and animals) on our planet. We’ve included plenty of pages for you to create your own journal writings, drawings, and more.

We are selling these journals at cost (no profits).
